St. Mary comforted by Mary, wife of Clopas, two of the painted figures in progress as part of a large Crucifixion theme window designed and now in fabrication at Northern Art Glass. St. John and Mary Magdelene will be positioned on the other side of the cross. One last look at the finished J1 stained glass transom from the West Block before it is crated up to await installation on site. This arched window went through a massive restoration process at Northern Art Glass. Over 50 piece of glass were repainted to match the original damaged panes before the panel could be reassembled. It looks pretty good for a circa 1870 stained glass window. The J1 door and frame are currently undergoing a full refurbishing treatment by another heritage contractor before the completed entryway can once again shine on Parliament...

One of our favorite long distance clients, a confessed big fan of our artistry and workmanship and, who has ordered other themed projects in the past, commissioned this Last Supper design as a gift for his wife and daughter. You will note Judas leaving the party early, out the door with his big bag of silver. The crate we fabricated was another work of art to safeguard this window, 20″ x 36″ in size, on it’s journey out west. It has now safely arrived and awaiting framing for installation in his home....

Northern Art Glass continues year two of a restoration of historic stained glass windows at the West Block on Parliament Hill. This is a beautiful eight pointed ‘rose’ window close to five feet across. The window opening is prominently located above the South entrance overlooking Wellington Street. This original painted and stenciled window dates to the early 1870’s. Our restoration is the first intervention in 145 years.
