Youghiogheny Glass a premium, hand-made glass fabricated in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. This "Yogi" glass is very popular among glass artists for its uncompromising quality, unique colors and organic patterns. Founded in 1976 by John W. Triggs and originally developed in the Tiffany era, the glass simulate the naturalistic qualities of light, shade and volume.  Image shown above: U-00-21 and U-00-485 shown in reflected light (left) and backlit (right). Commission alert!   We've designed and fabricated a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired panel in the figurative shape of a Magnolia and a Tilia tree intertwined.  Client's Vision A Magnolia tree and a Tilia Tree. The color palette will be mostly green with a splash of pink, yellow, blue and clear representing the stars, sun and the sky! Fusing "Broken Glass"

Tuesday Fuseday!⁠⁠One of our regular customers had a unique idea - He intentionally created spiderweb breaks, then rearranged the broken pieces and had us do a partial fuse on them!⁠⁠ The end result was a series of "broken glass" pieces with rounded edges, perfectly capturing the chaos of shattered glass, and making the pieces safe to handle!⁠ Shoutout to Ross for his creativity!⁠

We often get questions about paint on glass, and here's a bit of info for the curious.   Glass paint comes in powder form until diluted with water or glycerin. At that point it becomes ink-like in consistency until it dries back into a powder. It's painted on when wet, and then fired in a kiln after it's dry. While it's dry, it's easily smudged and wiped off of the glass, so it's imperative that it's handled carefully so as to not ruin the work. ⁠⁠And while working with it, one needs to wear a respirator as the paint powder...
